"Phase One"

Started Oct. 2010

As of Nov. 15th, 2010 the roof is completed, half of the windows are installed (although due to a defect in the appearance of the windows, we may have to get an entire new batch of 11 specially ordered windows).  The front door has been relocated to the west side of the house and an entry way has been constructed.

• Demolish closet in front porch - DONE

Phase One is already rolling into Phase Two, which will include work to the bathroom, living room, porch, and office due to the need to do some of the work while walls are open (such as electrical work).

Living Room expansion/Office construction

• Demo wall between living room and front porch
• Construct wall between living room expansion and office
• Install new flooring, leaning towards heated too
• Install cabinets and counter top/custom desk - items already purchased
• Paint
• New ceiling
• New light fixtures

Full reno of bathroom

• Move door from connecting with kitchen to the back porch
• Install new tub/shower with fixtures

• I'm thinking of making our own headboard, either upholstered or just stained to match our woodwork

Landscaping

• First project:  Put in an area in the corner of the front yard for a bird bath.  I've already planted 4 hostas in a diamond pattern.  The bird bath will sit in the center.  I need to remove the grass, lay down some landscaping paper, install an edge of some kind, and decide if I want rocks or mulch.  Might plant some lupine along the back, as well as some other kinds of plants to fill it in a little more. - DONE

Pave driveway

 

Build new garage - this is probably going to be the biggest and most expensive, therefore the final, project.  We want to build a double, two story garage to extend our living space.  Dan's "man cave" can be over the garage, as well as possible room for guests.

 

This list will get broken down and more detailed as we go, but this is the running list at the moment!
